It is more important for us to get exposed so we can learn from it and build than skate through all these tournaments and never have any issues and then feel it in the World Cup.
My first memory of Umbro was when I refused to take off my orange and purple Umbro checkerboard shorts for church at five years old. I won that battle, and that drive to express myself and stay true to myself, even as a kid, is why I'm so excited about my partnership with Umbro.
My path might not be the same as everyone else's, but I had to find a way. It's not by chance. It's not by coincidence. It's because I work hard for it... and I have to continue that to be successful.
I need everyone else around me to be impactful in my life in some way, and I think my fans need that, too. And I choose to accept that role.
When I'm training, and I'm in games, and challenges or things aren't going my way, I literally am so happy to go home to the family I'm creating.
